The August 2019 – Playlist

I’ve been making monthly playlists for quite some time but crazily enough I’ve never thought of doing a feature on my blog?

I’ve finally decided to do this because music is something I really enjoy – be it any language, genre or literally whatever.

This months playlist includes some specials related to films I went and watched at the theatres last month, to just random tracks that was my August mood.

So here goes –

Madhu Pole – by Sid Sriram and Aishwarya Ravichandran

Here’s the Spotify link for those who want to give it a listen – Madhu Pole

And the YouTube link because the song is a treat to watch – click here!!

This song is from a recently released movie “Dear Comrade” that I got to watch on the release date itself. Unlike the name of the movie, it has a really different story and vibe, which will be explained later in my upcoming review! This song details in a beautiful manner, the growing relationship between the two lead characters.

This song is there in quite a few languages but I’ve included the Malayalam links in this post.

The song itself starts on a rather dull sound but building up to a rather explosive but slow release of all the built up energy. Definitely one of my favorite treats as far as music is concerned, this month.

1950 by King Princess

Here’s the Spotify link – Spotify!

And the YouTube link – click here!!

This amazing artist and song (that surely deserves a lot of love) was a recent discovery of mine in August and boy had I been missing out on this talented artist.

The song is a unique kind of song on a theme that has been Sung about a lot and will continue to be – unrequited love. Fun fact, King Princess played all the instruments for this song too!

Her song is specifically for the unrequited love faced by all the queer people out there (shout out for that!!). This was also her debut single but I gotta say she’s a pro and really talented!

Hakuna Matata by Ernie Sabella, Jason Weaver, Joseph A Williams, Nathan Lane

Here’s the Spotify link – roaarrr!

And the YouTube link – here!!

Now I’m sure a lot of you already have this song on your devices, and I know you also know why I included in this month in my playlist.

Me and my friend watched this film together and we were humming it for days. Yup, it’s a problem free philosophy and can fix any problem!

Although I included the original version here, the new movie is just as good capturing all the emotions. When I went to the theatre, I noticed one thing. The audience could broadly be classified into two. One – a new set of young kids watching lion king for the first time, and enjoying it. And an older set of people, who watched the movie when they were younger and some who watched the Timoon and Pumba cartoon as well!

A-Teen by SEVENTEEN

Here’s the link – Spotify and Youtube . For the YouTube link I’ve included a lyric video that will help you understand the meaning as well!

This was part of an OST released for a web-drama and features the members – Joshua, Vernon, Hoshi, Woozi and Dino.

This was my on-the-way-to-work jam and I hope you guys love it too!

SEVENTEEN is a group that has a lot of great jams so do give them your love!

MIC DROP (full-length) (Steve Aoki mix) by BTS

Here are the links – Spotify , YouTube and of course the live performance on Saturday Night Live!

Another one of my fav jams for my on-the-way-to-work , is of course from BTS. Now I’ve loved all the versions of this song of theirs. But the ending bit from the song really let’s your energy out from listening to the song, which is why I chose this particular version. And have you seen their live performance for this one? You should. It’s one of their best.

This particular track featured off of their album “Love Yourself : Answer” and was on the second disc as one of the mixes of the sassy song – MIC DROP.

Winter Bear by V of BTS

He released this song for free so it’s not available on Spotify but it is uploaded on SoundCloud and YouTube . Here’s the link – for SoundCloud and YouTube link!

This song was released suddenly one day on September by the member V of BTS. It’s an individual song, composed by him and is a slow, and warm song that you can listen to on a day you need some comfort along with a mug of hot chocolate and a book or a movie, whatever you prefer.

Main Title from the drama ‘Secret Garden’

Here’s the link – Spotify and YouTube.

Now as per the information on WikiPedia this track hasn’t been credited to Anu particular artists. This drama was one I had watched quite some time back but I binge watched it recently because – why not?

The story of the drama revolves around a Rick young CEO and a stunt woman who unfortunately experience a soul switching experience every time it rains! The main Title is a cute and mellow song and really brings back in a rush of emotions from when I watched this drama!

That Man by Hyun Bin

Here are the links to – Spotify and YouTube lyric video!

This too is from the same drama- Secret Garden but fans of the drama will definitely know this song!

There are two versions of this song but I went for the one Sung by the lead – Hyun Bin. Those who love this drama will definitely feel the vibe of this drama from this single song!

Yuri!!! On ice by Taru Umabeyashi and Taku Matsushiba

Here’s the link – Spotify (concert version) and YouTube link!

This anime series must be know to many and if you know the series, I bet you know this song!

This is the song that Yuri performs to on his journey to the Grand Prix finals! And it’s indeed a beautiful song! You just melt into the music as soon as you listen to it!

Mikrokosmos by BTS

Here’s the links – Spotify and YouTube.

This songs from their latest and highly successful album – Map of the Soul : Persona. This track is about them singing how each person forms a small light in this world that together forms this mikrokosmos of love.

This song was an ending feature on their concerts as well and is definitely a fan favorite. The whole mood of the song is upbeat, full of positive energy. A definite favorite.

I am a girl like you by Julia Stevens and Melissa Ayons

Here’s the link – YouTube

Hands down Barbie as The Princess and The Pauper is one of my top favorites Barbie movies from when I was a kid.

If you’re wondering how this one made into my playlist was, well as you know this songs quite popular when it comes to the meme videos and stuff and I just happened to find the song and listen to it later which is how it ended up on my August playlist!

S.O.S. by the Jonas Brothers

Here’s the link – Spotify and YouTube

If you’re wondering why I didn’t go for one of the more recent tracks by the Jo Bros , well as much as I’m enjoying this comeback of theirs, honestly their classics never die. And this was the first Jo Bros song that me and my brother jammed to on Disney channel when we were kids, and I’m sure a lot of you did too!

So yes, that’s my August playlist! How many of you enjoyed the same songs I did, or have suggestions of your own? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. You listening to Kpop and Hakuna Matata makes me think of Wave by Ateez. It literally uses the words “Hakuna Matata” in the chorus. But all these songs are great! I am a Girl Like You was my one of my favorite songs years ago, but I haven’t heard it in so long!

    • Ateez is one of my fav K-pop groups too! They’re really good! I am a girl like you was my favorite long ago, and I recently realized I still like it since Barbie as the princess and the pauper is my favorite Barbie movie!
