Like I said before – Boy! Does it feel amazing to put up monthly blog posts ON TIME. I know you might realise I dropped this on 4th October but by my standards this is really early. I guess it comes with running a blog all on your own that has a lot of different content going on! But it’s always better to be late than never! So here goes!
Catch You, Catch Me by GUMI a.k.a Megumi Hinata
Yes. I’ve been binging on Cardcaptor Sakura on Cardcaptor Sakura on Netflix for the past month so it’s not a surprise that the theme song made it way to one of my September favorites! This one’s from Season 1 which I liked a little more than Season 2, just on yhe theme song. This song definitely strikes my nostalgic side for sure!
The Main Theme of Empress Ki by Kim Jang Woo
No, I haven’t exactly been watching Empress Ki this month, it’s an actually something I’ve watched a long time back and arguably one of the best sageuks (historical K-Dramas) I have seen yet. This song crept into my YouTube suggestions a while back and ever since I listened to it I have been in throwback mood and it ended up on this months playlist! This is a beautiful instrumental piece which is raw and filled with emotions.
Blueberry Eyes (feat. SUGA of BTS) by Max Schneider
I got to find out about Max via his feature on Suga’s mixtape so it wasn’t so surprising I did check out his song where Suga featured. It’s nice to see Max go with the Korean rap that Suga recorded for this song. Also it’s Max’s wife and their baby daughter whose due soon that’s featured in the video! It’s adorable and full of blueberries!
Ice Cream by Blackpink and Selena Gomez
A surprise Collab by the Blackpink girls with singer Selena Gomez, this song is definitely as sweet as it sounds!
Ghar More Pardesiya by Shreya Ghoshal
One of my favorite tracks from the movie, I really started to like it because of the music video that was set around the main two characters coming in close proximity as the story gathers all ste around the festival of Dussehra. The visuals are amazing and the song is it’s best companion!
Subhanallah by Pritam Chakraborty
In another episode of YouTube recommendations taking me down memory lane this one also comes into the list! This really brought some memories back of me in my college hostel watching it with my roommates during the weekend! It’s a definite feel good movie too!
Aahistha Aahistha by Lucky Ali and Shreya Ghoshal
Moving on from YouTube recommendations while I was listening to the previous song I suddenly remembered this song from even before which my mom and me used to love to sing. While this playlist continues to be a nostalgic ride for me, I can’t not add this in the playlist.
Dream Glow (feat. Charli XCX) by BTS
BTS is reigning the music industry as an immensely succesful act but it’s nice to see that even their smaller projects have really good songs as well. And that includes the OST of their game where players can be the managers of BTS and guide them to success! This was a feature from Charli, and this OST contains many features but this song was one of my favorites!
S.O.S. by Jonas Brothers
Funny story I sat and binge watched this particular video of the Jonas Brothers which happened to be my first because I had mistaken Kevin to be the actor who plays Drake in Drake and Josh (I was a kid and kids make mistakes) . But that happy little mistake helped me find a lot more music from the Jonas Brothers who are a really versatile pop group that has come out from a trope of Disney artists.
The Art of Living by Bibio
If there’s one song that gives me peace of mind. It’s definitely this. And I feel you would feel the same too!
The Truth Untold by BTS
BTS is known for their lyrical proficiency and this song makes the list for that. The entire album is based on the theme of the pain that love gives (this was after the first album called “Her” that embodied the joy of love. This album was then followed by an album called “Answer” that showed that true love starts with loving yourself. It’s a beautiful trilogy and i recommend you check it out). Now coming to this song it talks about a person who feels bad or inferior about himself and finds it challenging to approach the person they love out of fear that they are not enough – something that extends in many shapes and forms in our life. It’s a beautiful ballad with a tune of piano which is produced by Steve Aoki and features the four vocalists of BTS – Jin, Jimin, V and Jungkook.
Cloud by Before You Exit
This is a new discovery but a pleasant and favorite one at that. I have looped this on and on and I highly recommend it!
And that’s it for this month’s playlist! What did you think? Any of your favourites? Recommendations are always welcome in the comments section!
