Watch With Me : The Untamed (2019) – Ep 30 – recap

Wei Wuxian has now joined with the innocent and surviving clan members to protect them from the other clans. Also as part of his decision he has been kicked out of the Jjang clan as well and is kind of a public enemy. Wen Ning has also now been ressurected although he doesn’t seem to be in the best of control of himself as well. I guess we are going to traverse more into the story and see how the two became the Yiling Patriarch and the Ghost General now. One thing we can be happy about is that Lan Wangji is still on Wei Wuxian’s side. The side of the good! And with that welcome to another edition of Explore With Me!

Wei Wuxian and the remaining residents at the burial grounds spend their days farming their own vegetables which surprisingly grows well in the Burial grounds after putting in some effort. The excess vegetables are sold at the marketplace so that they can buy other supplies. Wen Ning and Wei Wuxian start to sell vegetables but they aren’t managing to sell much. Also notice that Wen Ning has the same black vein like scars on his neck like the zombies we saw in the present time of this story do. Jjang Cheng then comes up to them and takes him away to a secluded place. While we all fear the two are going to have another fight, it’s in fact to meet Yanli who has come to meet him to show him her wedding look and a name for her son which Wei Wuxian does. Looks like the kick out from the Jjang clan was kind of a pretense so the other clans would shut up about it. The three are still on good terms and that makes me happy! The three then share their favorite lotus stem soup and even gives a portion to Wen Ning who waited outside while all this took place.

Now back at the burial grounds, he has an intense wish to grow some lotus although everyone there says it’s impossible for a delicate plant like Lotus to grow in an environment like this. Despite all that, he persists for many days and one does sprout. However Wen Yuan comes and plucks that off leading to Wei Wuxian scolding him badly.

Almost a year later, Jin Ru Lan is born and there is an intense discussion on whether Wei Wuxian should be invited for the newborns one-month celebration. Meng Yao suggests to invite him to use it as an opportunity to get the Stygian Tiger Amulet from him once and for all. Lan Wangji is tasked with sending the information.

Takeaways from the episode

Although it seems like not a lot happened this episode we have to admit that this part is definitely pivotal to the story because now that the baby is born and they have decided to invite Wei Wuxian the real drama is about to start and I beleive we are reaching the end of our flashback too. I can’t wait to see what’s next!
